“Telemann’s works draw their inspiration from Germany, the composer’s country of origin, from France, where he lived for a while, and of course from Italy. The result is Italian beauty with a certain French lightness. The Elephant House Quartet excels in performing the works on the CD. It is playful with a certain tenderness. Most of the time, the harpsichord and the violin seem to hold a discussion which is always of great beauty without ever falling into melancholy, with a very subtle accompaniment of the harpsichord and a delicate bass.” Read more.
